This is a hanging scroll made from a high-grade print of an actual letter by 利休 Rikyu.
The entire content cannot be deciphered, but it is written that Rikyu gave his favorite garden stone lantern to his pupil.
The famous one is now at 大徳寺 Daitokuji Temple. This is a Kamakura-era lantern that a disciple named 忠興
Tadaoki coveted and received from Rikyu.
