Japanese antique porcelain Sake bottle vase indigo blue&white hand painting flower SOMETSUKE KOIMARI 1800s EDO craft H9.8×5.9in/H25×15cm.

This is a very simple old sake bottle.
It was called a tokuri and was used as a container for sake and other drinks. This piece is from the late Edo period.
The long neck is distinctive, and the simple painting and shape make it a good choice for decorating.
It can be decorated simply or with flowers.
There are black spots where the glaze has not been applied in some places, which is peculiar to old pottery, and this is called “leaf warbler/ Mushi-kui” in Japan, and is loved as one of the interesting sights. There are scratches on the surface, but no major damage. What is unique is that the lid and leather strap are still intact.
Many similar pieces were made until around the Taisho period (1912-1926), but the pale indigo color, overall glaze hue, and shape of this piece indicate that it is from the Edo period. The darker indigo seen in this tokuri is from a relatively newer period.
