The Art of E-Karatsu:
Produced in the early Showa period to honor the ancient traditions of the 16th century, this vase features "Oni-ita" (iron mineral) paintings under a translucent ash glaze. The abstract, plant-like strokes are celebrated for their "unfettered" beauty—a hallmark of the Tea Ceremony aesthetic. Its wide, stable base and narrow neck are perfectly balanced to highlight a single seasonal bloom or a dry twig.
