Japanese antique lapis lazuli indigo blue porcelain small vase for one flower 瓶子Heishi Tokkuri old little sake bottle vase for shrine alter 1920s H3.7×1.6in,
In Japan, this is called 瓶子Heishi, and it was originally a vessel for offering sake to the gods at a Shinto shrine. This blue color was called lapis lazuli, and blue glaze was precious.
In modern times, however, it is often used as a single flower vase. They are very small in size and perfect for displaying wild flowers.
The simple shape with a neck is beautiful and will never get old.
