Japanese Antique container KOIMARI Porcelain Jūbako red flower decoration Stacking ceramic Bento Box Meiji 1910s H8.3in/21cm four-tiered.
This is a four-tiered porcelain container called a stacked box.
Originally, this was a lunch box-like item used to hold food and snacks.
It is an 古伊万里焼old Imari ware made in the Meiji period and is in very good condition and highly recommended. This comes with the original wooden box.
Flowers, arabesques, scrolls and fans are delicately painted. Red and pale yellowish green are used, making it gorgeous and beautiful. In the center of the lid, the word "福Fuku (good fortune)" is depicted in Kanji characters.
Newer ceramic stacked boxes were printed and mass-produced, but this kind of hand-drawn and really old ceramic stacked box is rare. There are a few tiny chips, but no major damage and ready to use.
It is recommended to use it for storing accessories, make-up, etc.
