Japanese antique 1800s soot-stained pottery dolls of two gods, Ebisu and Daikoku, the Seven Lucky Gods, Edo handmade craft H3in/7.5cm.
This very old statue of a deity has deteriorated somewhat over time, but its atmosphere still exudes a unique power.
This is Ebisu, one of the Seven Lucky Gods, who is beloved in Japan as a deity who brings good fortune.
However, unlike the modern depictions of Ebisu, this statue does not hold a fishing rod.
Originally, Ebisu was worshipped as a deity who brought good fortune from the sea, and it was believed that he brought prosperity to businesses through trade.
In the past, fishermen believed that items washed ashore by the sea would bring a bountiful catch. Ebisu was also regarded as a deity who “brings blessings from the sea.”

condition...
Overall, there is some damage due to age. However, that is also part of its charm.
I list antiques that sometimes have chips, rubbings and cracks
as they are very old antiques so please check the images and understand the current
condition before buying.
