Japanese antique 17th century Momoyama seto porcelain Yobitsugi plate with kintsugi gold repair W4.3in/W11cm.

Yobitsugi is a technique of “kintsugi” in ceramic crafts, in which different shards are combined to create a single piece. Porcelain enthusiasts and craftsmen sometimes collect old shards to learn about the clay and glazes used by their predecessors or to let their imagination run wild.
This one is made of ceramic shards from almost the same period, probably because it is pieced together from ceramic shards that have been found in a broken state.
Seto ware was made at Seto kilns in Aichi Prefecture from the Kamakura to Muromachi periods.
The light greenish glaze is characteristic of this old Seto ware. The whiteness and fineness of the clay can also be said to be characteristic. It is also said to be the first glazed pottery in Japan, and has the atmosphere of a primitive mountain tea bowl. Unlike today's tea bowls, which are used for drinking tea, these tea bowls were used as miscellaneous daily utensils for placing food in general.
This bowl is the opposite of perfection. However, because it is not perfect, we can feel the fragility, the wavering, and the aesthetic sense of the tea masters who loved it as wabi and sabi.
The wooden box is of a different period.
