Japanese antique 1700s BIZEN old hand made ceramic jar flower vase for tea ceremony Ikebana Wabi Sabi H8.3×7.3in/H21×18.5cm.
This is a Bizen jar made at the end of the Momoyama period. This jar was made for practical use and is heavy in weight.
The unique distortion created by hand-twisting is also attractive.
The surface has deepened considerably with age, giving it a stately appearance. The inside has traces of a white mortar-like substance that was added in a later period. Although it cannot hold water, it can be enjoyed as a vase with a small cup inside or displayed as it is, which is very cool.
It is truly a wabi-sabi world view.

condition...
It is in good condition, but there are scratches and dirt due to aging. This cannot hold water.
I list antiques that sometimes have chips, rubbings and cracks
as they are very old antiques so please check the images and understand the current
condition before buying.
