FINE! RARE! Japanese vintage Noh doll Hannya mask demon mask named "道成寺” made of wood and silk KIMONO for Gift H8.5×5.1in/H21.5×13cm

This Noh puppet wearing a 般若 Hannya mask is beautifully crafted. The kimono and other costumes are also beautiful, and the hands are delicately made.
It exudes a lively and powerful atmosphere.  
This is one of a series of puppets created based on the theme of 能 Noh, a traditional Japanese performing art. Other puppets by the same artist are also listed.
This puppet is based on a play called “道成寺 Dōjōji.” The demon-like mask represents the spirit of a princess who fell in love with a monk, was betrayed, and died with a grudge.  
It is highly regarded as a wonderful work of art that expresses the deep emotions of humans, especially women.  
It stands on its own on a square wooden base, but the brown tray underneath is not included.
