FINE! Japanese antique rising DRAGON ink brush painting hanging scroll by Gosyun dragon KAKEJIKU with Box 1700s Edo H71.7in/182cm.
Yukawa Tamaryu was a Japanese painter active in the late Edo period (died in 1808). He was mainly active in what is now Iwate Prefecture and is said to have studied the Kano school of painting.
A dragon peeks out from the clouds. The silk around it is a beautiful contrast of light blue in the center and brown. Although it is very old and has some holes from insects, the colors are deep and beautiful.
The piece is large and impressive due to its long width.
It is signed and is an overall wonderful work of art.
