FINE! Pair of Beautiful Japanese antique 1890s furniture brass hexagonal hanging lanterns, lotus design from Buddhist temple H5.5in/H14cm

This is a very high-quality, small pair of lanterns made toward around the end of the Edo period- Meiji period. Unlike newer items, the materials used are of a different era—the brass is thick, and the carved patterns are all superbly crafted. The color has deepened beautifully with age.
This pair of lanterns was hung on a small altar in a temple. 
These lantern shades are very beautiful with detailed metal decorations. The center is watermarked and covered with paper.  A small, cylindrical alcohol lamp, made of brass, is incorporated inside the piece. It is designed to be removable from the base.

The shade of this lantern resembles a lotus flower, and when viewed from above, it can be recognized as a lotus flower. Patterns inspired by nature, such as clouds and waves, are placed on each part corresponding to a certain order. Stored in a wooden box.
