Japanese vintage 1960s Bronze flower vase for tea ceremony brown marble with beautiful birds ears with 宗喜 sign H9.4×3.9in/H24×10cm.
This vase is made of beautiful and delicate copper.
藤井 宗喜 Souki Fujii (1940~)was born in Toyama Prefecture, famous for its Takaoka copper ware, and has won numerous awards at Japanese craft exhibitions. It is famous for its Takaoka copperware, which has won numerous awards at Japanese craft exhibitions. It has a unique beauty that transcends country and time.
His works have a characteristic precision. The ear design is amazing and this is a legendary spirit bird called a phoenix. In Japan, it is considered a symbol of peace and prosperity and has been used to decorate the imperial family and temples. It sometimes has a similar meaning to that of the phoenix (phoenix) and is sometimes considered a symbol of “death and rebirth. The addition of a ring on the beak also seems to be a symbol of this. On the side is a design in relief that looks like a leaf motif of a plant.
On the back is a signature inscribed in Kanji characters. The color is a marbled dull green, which also feels like an aged bronze. It is a beautiful austere color.
Being made of copper, it is heavy and stable, and easy to use for displaying flowers.
It is also recommended to display it just as an ornament.
