This is a wonderfully beautiful Japanese painting.
It is hand painted with celestial maidens. The use of gentle and elegant colors such as light blue, dark blue, and pink on a gold base is very wonderful.
The painting is surrounded by a silk arabesque patterned cloth. The frame is wood and black. The glass part has been changed to resin. The painting is very old and the frame is an item that was replaced around the Meiji period.

There are many legends of celestial maidens in Japan. She is called 天女Tennyo.
She is also a Buddhist goddess. She is considered a goddess of beauty, good fortune, prosperity, and fertility.
