FINE! 1800s Japanese antique Chatsubo SHIGARAKI old hand made ceramic jar for tea leaves Tea ceremony Ikebana H13.1×10.8in/H33.2×27.5cm.

This is a late Edo period antique pottery jar made of 備前 Bizen ware.
This slightly large jar, made for everyday use, has a cool, aged look.
The surface is matte, with unique gradations that occur naturally when fired black in places.
Bizen-yaki is fired without glaze, allowing the natural beauty of the clay to shine through. There are chips around the rim, but since they have been there for many years, the edges have rounded off and blended in.
The jar is sturdy and its texture changes with use, adding to its charm and presence.

condition...
It is in very good condition, but there are scratches and dirt due to aging. There are chips around the rim, but since they have been there for many years, the edges have rounded off and blended in.

I list antiques that sometimes have chips, rubbings and cracks
as they are very old antiques so please check the images and understand the current
condition before buying.
