Japanese vintage "Daruma" doll statue with Kanji Happy福, ceramic savings box Buddhist monk priest ZEN master,H4.9in/H12.5cm.
達磨 Daruma, the motif, is a Buddhist priest who introduced Buddhism from India to China. He is also called "Zen Master.
This Daruma is deformed and has a unique atmosphere. The discoloration over time is also cool.
It was made to imitate Daruma's "座禅zazen" figure.
Zazen" means to correct one's posture by crossing one's legs and unify one's mind in a state of persistent dreaming.
It has an impressive smile and the word "福Fuku" written in Kanji characters on its belly. It is a feeling that means happiness.
Since it is a piggy bank, there is a hole in the top. However, it is the type that you cannot take out the middle without breaking it.
