This mask, called 大癋見Obesimi, is used as a kind of 天狗tengu (supernatural beings) or god on the Noh stage.
It is beautifully and powerfully carved by hand. The eyes are painted in gold, giving it a unique eye appeal. The back is painted in red.

"Beshimi" is a noun form of "heshimu" by making the mouth into the Japanese character "へ", the face of the demon.It also has big eyes and nose that try to intimidate everything.

However, it changes depending on the angle, such as the appearance of tears being shed with sorrow, or the ecstatic expression emerging at the part where the dance goes to the climax.
