Japanese antique DRAGON ink brush painting hanging scroll by "呉春 Gosyun" ,KAKEJIKU with BOX 1700s Edo, signed H72in/183cm.

This hanging scroll features a painting of a dragon in ink by 呉春 Goshun (1752-1811), the founder of the Shijo school of painting who was active in the mid-Edo period (18th century). However, it is unclear whether this is actually his work.
He studied painting under Yosa Buson and Maruyama Ōkyo, seamlessly blending the poetic and literati-like qualities of Southern School painting with the realistic and decorative elements he learned from Ōkyo—elements that seem to contradict one another at first glance. The Shijo School established by Matsumura Goshun gained immense influence in the Kyoto art scene from the late Edo period through the Meiji era due to its realistic style and approachability.
This dragon is remarkable for its vigorous, flowing brushwork. The clouds, which resemble lightning bolts, are particularly striking.
The surrounding silk is woven with yellow and brown floral family crests, adding to its beauty.

This is called KAKEJIKU a hanging scroll, and is a calligraphy or oriental painting on silk or paper.
In Japan, masters store various types of hanging scrolls. And he hangs a drawing scroll which represents the season and calligraphy scrolls which implies his feelings or message to his guests.
Another good point is that it can be rolled up and stored compactly.
