FINE! SILVER! 1910s Japanese antique tobacco smoking pipe Genuine silver kanji with Carved Tiger and Bamboo craft KISERU hand craft.
Tobacco pipe.
It is an antique, but in very good condition and ready to use.
In Japan, the part to fill with tobacco is called 雁首GAN-KUBI (gooseneck). The other side, called "吸い口SUI-KUCHI"(mouthpiece), is made of sterling silver. It is stamped "純銀sterling silver" in kanji characters. Engraved on the silver are a bamboo and a 虎TORA tiger. The tiger is very cool. In Japan, the combination of bamboo and tiger is an example of good luck. There is an old Japanese proverb that says, "Peony and lion, bamboo and tiger. The meaning of this saying is a metaphor for a picturesque combination of things.
The invincible tiger was also afraid of the huge elephants that lived in herds.
However, big elephants could not enter the bamboo grove, and if they forced themselves to step into it, their ivory would break.
That is why bamboo thickets were a safe haven for tigers.
The middle stick is made of bamboo.

It is very good condition , but there are some stains and scratches from age.

as they are very old antiques so please check the images and understand the current
condition before buying.
